Дебютный лонгплей, реализованный через "CBS", занял в британских чартах 32-е место, а наиболее популярной вещицей с него стал трек "Come To The Sabbat".
Кстати, несколько ранее был подготовлен другой вариант этого альбома с вокалом Кэй и Кипа, но пленку сразу в ход не пустили, и она долгое время хранилась у Джонса. Запись увидела свет лишь в 1998 году под названием "Return To The Sabbat". На рубеже десятилетий группа много гастролировала по Европе, причем дважды побывала (в 1969-м и 1970-м) на популярном в те времена фестивале "Isle Of Wight". На втором альбоме "Black Widow" попытались отойти от своих оккультных штучек, желая расширить аудиторию, однако получили обратный результат. Вслед за этим начались смены состава. Бонд отдал басуху Джеффу Гриффитсу, Бокс уступил ударную установку Ромео Челленджеру, а место Ганнона занял Джон Калли (экс-"Cressida").

In 1966, seven young musicians from Laker - Kay Garrett (vocals), Kip Trevor (vocals, guitar, harmonica), Jess "Zoot" Taylor (keyboards), Jim Gannon (guitar, vocals), Clive Jones (flute, saxophone), Bob Bond (bass) and Clive Box (drums) founded the band "Pesky Gee!" The team, performing the so-called "blue-eyed soul", lasted three years, releasing during this time only one album "Exclamation Mark". In 1970, the team (already without Garrett) was renamed to "Black Widow", at the same time radically changing their musical orientations. Following the course laid by "Black Sabbath", the group began to play occult-satanic rock (although, unlike the "heavy" Birmingham, it made progressive zakas).
Concerts were staged according to all the laws of mystical shows, the apotheosis of which was to stage the sacrifice of a naked woman. This fact alone was enough to talk about "Black Widow" in the press. The debut longplay, realized through "CBS", took 32nd place in the British charts, and the track "Come To The Sabbat" became the most popular thing from it.
By the way, another version of this album with vocals of Kay and Kip was prepared a little earlier, but the film was not immediately put into use, and it was kept by Jones for a long time. The record was released only in 1998 under the name "Return To The Sabbat". At the turn of the decade, the group toured extensively in Europe, and twice visited (in 1969 and 1970) the Isle Of Wight festival, which was popular at that time. On the second album, "Black Widow" tried to move away from their occult stuff, wanting to expand the audience, but got the opposite result. Following this, composition changes began. Bond gave the bass to Jeff Griffiths, Boxing lost the drum kit to Romeo Challenger, and Gannon was replaced by John Callie (ex- "Cressida").
The group moved further and further towards art rock, moving away from mystical texts and theatrical shows and simultaneously losing their fans. The third album, which appeared in 1972, included things like the anti-war song “The Battle” and the hymn to the Sun “The Sun”. Now it became clear to everyone that the Black Widow, in the pursuit of commercialization, had completely lost their dark roots.
The disc was still in some demand in continental Europe, but in England few people paid attention to it. By the summer of 1972, the team was completely demoralized, as CBS broke the contract. The musicians themselves had to record and produce the next full-length film. Despite the fact that “IV” contained quite strong material, it was not possible to release the album immediately, and it lied on the shelf until 1997. At the end of the sessions, Trevor retired, and American Rick “E” stood up to the microphone. However, this alliance did not last long, and in the same year the group was disbanded. Thanks to Clive Jones and Mystic Records, two early Black Widow works were released in the 90s.
At the turn of the century, the Italian label "Black Widow Records" released the tribute album "King Of The Witches". The bands “Death SS”, “Presence”, “Abiogenesi” and others participated in his recording, and, in addition, Jones and Trevor had a hand in creating the record. In 2007, the same "Mystic Records" threw on sale the DVD "Demons Of The Night Gather To See Black Widow" with a 1970 concert "Sacrifice".
